User Guide - CMS Import & Export for Magento 2

General Configuration

Admin can configure CMS import export settings under the Store > Configuration > Dolphin > Import Export CMS.

Export Fields

CMS Page Export Fields:
- Select the fields which are required while exporting CMS pages.
- Only select fields will be displayed in the file.
- The fields which are not selected that field and data will not displayed into the file.
CMS Block Export Fields:
- Select the fields which are required while exporting CMS blocks.
- Only select fields will be displayed in the file.
- The fields which are not selected that field and data will not displayed into the file.

Import Fields

CMS Page Import Fields:
- Select the fields which are required while importing CMS pages.
- Only select fields will be displayed in the file.
- The fields which are not selected that field and data will not displayed into the file.
CMS Block Import Fields:
- Select the fields which are required while importing CMS pages.
- Only select fields will be displayed in the file.
- The fields which are not selected that field and data will not displayed into the file.

Import CMS Page

To import the CMS pages/blocks please go to Content > CMS > Pages > Import.

Import settings

Import Settings:
- CMS Type: Select the CMS Page from the dropdown list of CMS Type.
File Type:
- Select the File type to import CMS pages.
- The file type must be CSV.

Import Behaviour

Field Separator:
- Enter the separator marker to separate the fields in the column.
- Default value for field separator is “,”.
Field enclosure:
- Click the checkbox to enclose the value in the column.

File to Import

Select File to Import:
- Click choose file to select imported product review file.
- The file format must be CSV.

Download Sample File

Before importing the CMS pages via CSV file, you need to prepare a CSV file with necessary information.
You can download a sample file by clicking the Download Sample File link near to the CMS Type field.

Sample File Format

Sample file includes the information like title, identifier, page_layout, store_id, is_active, creation_time, update_time, meta_title, meta_key, meta_description, content, layout_update_xml, custom_layout_update, sort_order and so on.

Validate Data and Finish Import

After entering all the above information, click on the Check Data button at the top right to check if the added data are correct.
It will check the data and if the data is valid then the import button will display, you can click on the Import button to import the CMS page.

Error while importing

In another case if the imported file is not valid or the import process is wrong then after clicking on the check data button, it will give you error.
Solve that error and try again.

Success Message

When the import process is complete it will give you a successful message

Export CMS Page

To export the CMS pages, In admin go to Content > CMS > Pages > Export.
Select the pages you want to export the file.
You can export the CMS page into two file formats: CSV or Excel XML.
After selecting the CMS pages click on the Export button to export the CMS pages.
CMS page export will be dependent on the fields you choose from the configuration, Only that fields will be displayed into the exported file.
If you have not chosen any field from the configuration then the exported file will be empty.
Click on the Cancel button to cancel export CMS pages.

Import CMS Block

To import the CMS pages/blocks please go to Content > CMS > Block > Import.

Import Settings

CMS Type: Select the CMS Block from the dropdown list of CMS Type.
File Type:
- Select the File type to import CMS blocks.
- The file type must be CSV.

Import Behaviour

Download Sample File

Before importing the CMS blocks via CSV file, you need to prepare a CSV file with necessary information.
You can download a sample file by clicking the Download Sample File link near to the CMS Type field.

Error while importing

Solve that error and try again.

Success Message

To export the CMS blocks, In admin go to Content > CMS > Blocks > Export.
Select the pages you want to export the file.
