User Guide - Product Inquiry for Magento 2

General Configuration

Admin can configure product inquiry settings under the Store > Configuration > Dolphin > Product Inquiry.

General Settings

Module Enable: Set Yes to Enable/Disable extension for a specific store where this extension is not needed.
Display On: If you want to enable inquiry for every product then choose all products else choose specific products.
Display Type:
- Choose how you want to display inquiry form. There are two types:
- Tab and Popup.
- Tab: Display inquiry form as tab with default tab.
- Popup: Display inquiry form as popup.
Tab / Button Name: Set the name of the tab or button name.
Form Title: Set title of the inquiry form.
Allow Attachment: Set Yes to allow add attachments to the users.
Enter Allow File Extension: Enter multiple extension types to be allowed for users.
Allow Guest Inquiry: Set Yes to allow guest users to inquire about products.
Thank You Message: Set Thank You message to display when users successfully submit the form.

Captcha Settings

Captcha Enable: Set Yes to Enable/Disable captcha for a specific store.
Select Captcha Type: You can choose captcha type.
- Captcha: If you want to display Default captcha of magento then choose this option.
- ReCaptcha: If you want to display Google captcha then choose this option.

Email Settings

Sender Email: Choose email address to send product inquiries.
Admin Email: Select an email template to notify admin for product inquiry.
Customer Email: Select an email template to notify customers when the admin responds to their inquiry.
New Inquiry Email Receivers:
- Enter email address to receive inquiry emails.
- You can enter multiple email addresses separated by comma(,).

Product Inquiry For Specific Products

When Display On is set as “Specific Products”, please go to Catalog > Products > Edit Product, then set the Enable Product Inquiry to yes.

Manage Product Inquiry

You can manage all the product inquiries in the admin panel.
You can add, edit or view product inquiries from that.
To see and manage product inquiries please go to Catalog > Product Inquiry > Manage Inquiries.

View Inquiry Data

You can manage all inquiry data on this convenient grid.
You can see a grid having information like product name, product SKU, customer name, customer email, subject, storeview, status, inquiry date and action.
You can also discover mass actions to manage multiple inquiries.
Click on the Add New Inquiry button to add new inquiry for products.

Add/Edit Product Inquiry

In Form you can change information as follows:
Status: You can update the status of inquiry asked by customers.
Product Name:
- You can see that for each product the customer inquires about.
- You can only read and see the product name but he can not edit or change it.
Customer Name: You can see customer name.
Customer Email:
- You can see email of the customer.
- You can not edit email, you can only read it.
Subject: You can see the subject which is asked by the customer.
Message: You can see message added by the customer.
Store View: You can see from which store the customer asked about the inquiry.
Upload Attachment File: You can see the relevant image attached with the inquiry by the customer.
Reply Customer: After seeing all the above data you can read that and reply accordingly to the customer.

Notify By Email

Admin and customer both will notify by email when any inquiry or response is made about the product.

Notify Admin By Email

When a customer inquires about any product then the admin will get a notification email.
You can choose a predefined email template for admin called Product Inquiry Template.

Notify Customer By Email

When a customer inquires about any product then s/he will get a confirmation email.
And when the admin responds to their inquiry then also admin can send email to the customer.
You can choose a predefined email template for admin called Product Inquiry Reply Template.

You can see product inquiry form on frontend in two forms:
